Testing AR in the wilds of West Texas 🌵📡✨

We’re excited to announce that Tago Mago, augzoo®’s live augmented reality channel, is heading to Big Bend! But this isn’t just an AR field trip — it marks the next evolution in what we’ve begun to call our Overland Methodology.
This approach to augmented reality development was born from years of testing and refining our tech across real-world locations. From artist showcases in downtown Austin to historic storytelling at Wooldridge Square and sprawling park installations, every AR event we’ve produced has shaped how we think about immersive, location-based storytelling.
Now, we’re taking it further — literally. We’re going off-grid, equipped with Starlink, into Big Bend’s remote desert terrain to push our platform even harder. We’re testing new immersive features, animation syncing, and edge-case geolocation in one of Texas’ most iconic landscapes.
Stay tuned as we share field notes from the desert, behind-the-scenes of new dino animations, and reflections on how each event — whether city-funded or artist-driven — has been building toward this next chapter.
Tag along, virtually or IRL. The Overland Methodology has just begun.
